Rapid Reentry Housing Funds
The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry has collaborated with North Star Neighborhood Reentry Resource Center to provide emergency funding to support formerly incarcerated individuals and their families facing housing insecurity.
The program offers direct payments to landlords and utility companies on behalf of individuals recently released from incarceration (jail/including pretrial defendants posting bond; prison, halfway house, or CBCF). The funds are allocated to address outstanding debts, cover security deposits, or assist with the first month's rent.
Applicants have 12 months after release from incarceration to apply for funds as long as funds are available. Eligibility for participation is determined through assessments conducted by North Star and its partners.
To qualify for the Rapid Reentry Housing Funds one-time payment assistance, applicants MUST:
- Complete a Rapid Reentry Housing Application
- Reside in Cuyahoga County
- Provide a valid ID
- Provide proof of income (employment, SSI/SSDI, Retirement, Pension)
- Provide proof of lease and/or utility bill
- Provide the Landlord/Property owner form completed by the landlord/property owner
- Provide the W9 form completed by the landlord/property owner
All applications and forms are available at North Star Neighborhood Reentry Resource Center and staff can assist individuals in completing the documentation.
